Property & Engineering Streams

Following submission by qualified participants, the following four steps can lead to your seat at the gala dinner and prize giving.

Choose Your Topic.

Choose your topic for your final year research project.
We will provide you with a range of topics, many of which will tie in well with your chosen project. See a list of topics from previous years.

Confirm Your Participation.

Register to confirm your participation. Your lecturer will be notified of your registration and during round one, will select either the top two groups of two each or four individual students. Self-nominated registrations close on 11th November 2024.

Presentation To Experts.

On the 28th November 2024 You will have the opportunity to present your project to a panel of industry experts selected by Growthpoint and the Green Building Council South Africa. The panel will select the winning and runner up projects.

Prestigious Gala Dinner.

Winners for each category will be announced at the prestigious gala dinner and prize giving function. Judging takes place in Johannesburg. Participating students from universities outside of Johannesburg will be flown in and accommodated by Growthpoint.

Choose Your Topic.

Send through your research or business pitch deck submission summary which must investigate technology innovations in the property sector. The list of eligible topics is broad. We have compiled a range of topics, and many of these will tie in well with your chosen project.

Assessment.

All submissions received by 30th September 2024 will be reviewed by Growthpoint and the GBCSA to assess relevance, applicability to the property space and significance to the sustainability pressure points currently faced within our sectors.

Presentation To Experts.

Top 10 finalists will be announced on 1st November 2024. All finalists will be invited to present their research to a panel of judges on 28^th November 2024. From this presentation, judges will select 3 winners within the category.

Winners for each category will be announced at the prestigious gala dinner and prize giving function. Judging takes place in Johannesburg. all participants based in other cities will be flown in and accommodated by Growthpoint.
